The Gun control policy of the Clinton Administration was the White House domestic policy on guns during the time when Bill Clinton was president from 1993 to 2001. Gun control was a major political issue during that time. Clinton lobbied two major pieces of gun control legislation, which are the Brady Bill and Assault Weapons Ban.The Brady Bill was stipulated that before a firearm could be purchased from a particular purchased licensee the purchaser would have to wait 5 days till a background check was performed. The Brady Bill was very personal to Bill Clinton he became ally with Sarah Brady to get the bill passed. Clinton saw the need to pass the bill when he met this hardware store owner who sold a firearm to an unstable Vietnam vet who was recently release from a mental institute, the guy went on a killing spree with the gun.The bill was finally passed in November 30, 1993.

The National Firearms Act regulates the registration and ownership of guns like, Machine guns, Short barreled rifles, Short barreled shotguns, Suppressors, and Destructive Device and any other weapons. In the 1930s, the United Stated faced a run of much-publicized gangster violence this convinced president Franklin D. Roosevelt that something has to be done to control the spread of weapons into general population. The NFA did not inspire as much controversy in 1934 as gun-control act today, although because of the general public perception that crime was out of control and in part because anti-gun control groups such as the National Rifle Association did not have nearly the strength they would later have. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/National+Firearms+Act+of+1934
In my opinion no one should own guns unless you are police officer or your in the military. This is why these gun laws are created, to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Many people say that laws should be passed to limit gun ownership. I say absolutely, there are a lot of people that should not own guns. Owning a gun is just an easier way for these criminals to harm people. The world should be a peaceful place to live in unfortunately its not. The Second Amendment was written at the time when owning guns was nothing out of the ordinary and used to protect there land and for hunting, now owning a gun is more for revenge, anger, and to kill innocent people.
This was a tragedy Trayvon did not deserve to die. A kid killed just because he looked suspicious to a neighborhood watch. To begin with i do not think that a neighborhood watch should carry a gun, his job should consist of " if you see something say something" do not be part of the problem call for back up. I see this case as a racist one since he was black, i believe that if instead of a black kid in the neighborhood with a hood on he would not approach the situation the same way he did with Trayvon.
Many people believe and say that Zimmerman killed Trayvon because of racial issues, others say because he was in possession of a gun when he encountered Trayvon he felt powerful. While i was doing some research i saw a video of Bill Cosby. In this video he strongly believed that it was not a racial issue but a gun issue. On the other hand people say because he was a black kid on a white neighborhood with a hoodie he looked suspicious and up to no good and seem like a threat so he shot him.
The NRA stands for "National Rifle Association" its and American non-profit that advocates for protection of the Second Amendment and the promotion of firearm ownership rights as well as marksmanship, firearm safety, and the protection of self-defense in the United States, its a premier firearm education organization in the world. The NRA is the most influential lobbying group, its said that the NRA has 4.3 million members. The NRA held several events and programs. One was the the youth programs that includes shooting sports events and affiliate programs with groups like 4-H, the boy scouts of America, the American Legion, U.S Jaycees and others, this program has about more than 1 million of young boys.
In 2005 Florida Legislators passed the "stand your ground law". The stand your ground law states that a person may use force in self-defense when there is reasonable and or the person is being threatened. This law is an extension of what is called the "castle doctrine" which gives the right to one to defend themselves. Nothing is more valuable than human life. Citizens must be able to protect themselves without fear that self-defense will legally be a problem. It is a tragedy that at anytime a young life is cut short, mainly because of gun violence. These crimes are no exception, sadly we live in difficult and violent days.
